BAULDERSTONE VICTORIA WINS STATE'S FIRST BUILDING ALLIANCE

3 December 2009

Baulderstone's Victorian Branch is pleased to have been selected as the preferred Contractor proponent for the $128 million refurbishment of Melbourne's Hamer Hall.

Baulderstone has been chosen to join with the project's architect, Ashton Raggatt McDougall, and the owner team of Arts Victoria, the Victorian Arts Centre Trust and Major Projects Victoria to deliver the project in what is the first building Alliance to be undertaken in Victoria.

The project is planned to be the first stage of the Southbank Cultural Precinct Redevelopment, a long term vision for a re-imaging of Melbourne's cultural precinct, upgrading and integrating a diverse range of cultural facilities while connecting people to the arts - and to the city - as never before.

The refurbishment of Hamer Hall and its environs will include:

a spectacular new outlook to the city and new connections to St Kilda Road and the Yarra River;
new and expanded foyer spaces, better amenities, new stairs, better disability access, escalators and lifts; and
improved acoustics, new auditorium seating, and cutting-edge staging systems.
Construction of the Stage 1 works is due to begin in 2010.
