The Barossa Valley Resort is a fully integrated accommodation and convention facility. An important component of the Barossa Valley’s tourism infrastructure, the resort was designed as a four star venue for conferences, meetings and functions. The four flexible function areas accommodate up to 340 guests.Other facilities include 140 air-conditioned apartments all with private balconies, restaurant, health club, and a swimming pool. Baulderstone’s role extended beyond that of a traditional design and construct contractor to include the procurement of furniture, fittings and equipment, as well as the management of their installation.
Baulderstone significantly contributed to the success of this project through innovative constructability input from the early design and documentation stage. This allowed the project team to employ time and cost saving construction methodologies effectively adding value to the project. Another aspect of this project which contributed to its success was the unique method of managing variations beyond the agreed scope of work. Financial responsibility was shared between Baulderstone and the developer.
